About the role
You will serve as the cornerstone of our client experience, combining deep product expertise with a high-touch, personalised approach to travel planning. This is not a transactional sales role; it's a consultative, relationship-driven position where your ability to understand client preferences, anticipate needs, and curate exceptional cruise holidays will define your success.
You will be responsible for guiding clients through every stage of their cruise booking journey, from initial enquiry to post-departure follow-up. Your role will also involve proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the client experience, with personalised premium perks, tailored recommendations and/or thoughtful touches that build loyalty and trust.
Every client is paired with a dual team consisting of a dedicated Cruise Consultant and a Cruise Coordinator, and you'll need to oversee that all logistical elements - such as documentation, transfers, and special requests - are handled seamlessly from the client's perspective and with precision and care.
Success in this role is measured not only by sales performance but by the quality of relationships you build and the repeat business you generate. This specialist company places a strong emphasis on client retention, and your ability to foster long-term connections and make personalised recommendations to your clients, striking the right balance between relationship and sales.
Our CRM system enhanced with AI functionality will assist you with managing your portfolio of clients. You’ll also take part in exclusive client events organised by the Membership Manager which are designed to deepen relationships, enhance loyalty, and strengthen your personal connection with each client.
This position requires a balance of commercial acumen and emotional intelligence. You’ll need to be confident in navigating a wide range of cruise products - from luxury ocean liners to expedition vessels and specialist cruises - and skilled at matching these to the unique desires of each client. You’ll also be expected to maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, supplier updates, and emerging destinations to ensure your advice remains current and compelling.
About you
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in cruise or travel sales, with a consistent record of converting enquiries into bookings and achieving or surpassing sales targets.
- In-depth knowledge of cruise products, including familiarity with a wide range of cruise lines, ship styles, itineraries, and onboard offerings - particularly within the luxury, expedition, and niche sectors.
- A client-first mindset, with a demonstrated ability to listen actively, understand nuanced travel preferences, and translate them into tailored cruise recommendations.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to engage clients across phone, email, and digital channels in a professional yet personable manner.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems and online booking platforms to manage client records, track interactions, and ensure seamless follow-up.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple bookings, timelines, and client profiles without compromising service quality.
- Commercially aware, with a solid grasp of pricing structures, supplier promotions, and upselling techniques that enhance both client value and business performance.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
