Established Tour Operator, who sell to trade through their experienced travel consultants as well as offering bespoke online booking tools, are seeking an experienced CSS Designer with strong front-end styling expertise to help shape the visual experience of their travel websites. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CSS, responsive design, and best practices, with some knowledge of JavaScript to enhance interactive elements within our platform. Starting salary is circa £35k pa plus benefits and this is a hybrid working role in Birmingham.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Design and implement custom CSS styling within our Page Builder platform.
- Utilize custom classes, built-in attributes, and responsive settings to create high-quality, adaptive designs.
- Ensure best practices in front-end styling, accessibility, and performance optimization.
- Work closely with developers, UX/UI designers, and content teams to enhance the travel booking experience.
- Use basic JavaScript knowledge to add interactive elements when needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design inconsistencies across different devices.
- Apply SEO-friendly design techniques, ensuring that CSS structures and page layouts support optimal search rankings.
- Stay updated on the latest CSS trends, front-end development techniques, and SEO best practices.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Strong proficiency in CSS (including Flexbox, Grid, animations, and transitions).
- Experience working with custom classes, attributes, and responsive design.
- Basic JavaScript knowledge for minor interactive enhancements.
- Understanding of SEO principles related to front-end development, including page speed optimization and structured content layout.
- Familiarity with best practices in web design, UX, and accessibility.
- Experience working with CMS platforms or page builders (experience with custom-built systems is a plus).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
Desirable
- Prior experience in the travel industry or working with bookable platforms.
THE PACKAGE:
Starting salary is up to £35k pa dependent on experience and benefits to be discussed at interview. This is an established, but still growing, ambitious travel company to forge a career with. This role is ideally based in offices in Birmingham (potentially hybrid), alternatively they have offices in London, so it could be hybrid in London if you are nearer this office.
