We’re seeking a commercially minded Data Analytics Engineer to join a growing data function supporting a fast-moving, data-driven organisation. This role sits between data engineering and business intelligence, transforming complex data into clear, reliable insights that enable teams across the business to make smarter, faster decisions.
You will play a key role in shaping how data is structured, modelled, visualised and consumed, helping to improve reporting efficiency, data accessibility and analytical capability across multiple departments.
As a Data Analytics Engineer, you will take ownership of turning raw data into structured, analysis-ready datasets and delivering intuitive dashboards and reporting solutions that drive strategic decision-making.
- Designing and maintaining scalable data models optimised for analytical use
- Developing and optimising complex SQL transformations to clean, aggregate and enrich data
- Ensuring data accuracy through validation and quality control processes
- Building interactive dashboards and reports using leading BI platforms
- Translating business questions into clear and actionable data insights
- Working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective data solutions
- Documenting data models, reporting logic and governance frameworks
- Improving performance of reporting solutions and identifying automation opportunities
- Supporting self-service analytics and improving data literacy across the business
Strong experience writing advanced SQL for large-scale data manipulation. Proven capability in designing analytical data models. Hands-on experience building dashboards with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker or similar. Familiarity with modern data transformation tools and workflows (e.g. dbt or equivalent). Experience working with cloud-based data warehouses. Solid understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT processes and reporting principles. A mindset focused on accuracy, performance and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts clearly.
