Travel Radar is growing; We are looking for Editorial Interns to join our growing Editorial Newsdesk Team. In this role, you can expect excellent training, support and opportunities to get stuck in, and a chance to let your talent take off.
Responsibilities and A Little More About the Role:
- Working on an assigned publication vertical - for example Route Development, Airport News, Sustainability - and work alongside other journalists (freelance and in-house) to curate news and evergreen stories.
- Developing engaging, creative, innovative content for regular web content, which enlightens audiences across the globe, and of varying demographics (Consumers, Frequent Fliers, Airline Executives etc.).
- Auditing and analyzing web content, visitor data and determine efficacy and areas for news desk improvement.
- Speaking with industry contacts, press offices and airline representatives to interview, source and compile quotes and facts for stories.
- Completing CPD Diploma at either level 5 or 7 in 'Journalism' which will include keeping a portfolio during the internship, with additional learning, skill and personal development sessions.
Who We're Looking For:
- Passion for Journalism, Blog Writing, Editing or Creative Writing.
- Currently studying a creative or technical journalism field subject, or other course with an aim to go into Journalism full-time.
- Willingness to learn.
- Great communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CMS (content-management systems) such as WordPress.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work on a hybrid basis with at least once per week on-site at TRHQ located in Burgess Hill, East Sussex, United Kingdom. Due to limited public transportation, a driving license is advantageous.

Additional Information:
- Commitment per Week: 12hrs.
- Reports to: Web Editor.

- Please note this is an unpaid/voluntary internship, and is therefore part-time in nature (1-2 days per week). This vacancy is for our hybrid internship program, and will require some on-site work at TRHQ once per week.
