As a Data Developer, you will be part of a product team contributing to the design, implementation and maintenance of scalable data solutions. You will work closely with cross‐functional teams to ensure data is accurate, reliable and fit for purpose across the business. Your work will play a key role in enabling seamless digital experiences across Travel Chapter's platforms.
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining data solutions and applications using modern development tools
- Supporting large‐scale data migration activity across websites and applications
- Collaborating with product and delivery colleagues to support timely project delivery
- Supporting data quality processes to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency
- Participating in code reviews to improve the quality of releases
- Assisting with troubleshooting and resolving production issues
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices
- Providing out-of-hours support on a rota basis where required
Experience level
Ideally 1+ years' commercial experience in a data, API or development-focused role. We are open to candidates earlier in their career who can demonstrate strong foundations and a willingness to learn.
Essential Experience
- Commercial experience using Python (core to the role)
- Experience working with data, APIs or data migrations, including websites or applications
- A good understanding of databases and SQL
- Experience with MySQL and/or MS SQL Server
- Understanding of testing strategies and quality-focused development
- Familiarity with Agile ways of working
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- PHP, JSON, AWS Lambdas
- Building or consuming APIs
- AWS or cloud infrastructure platforms
- Source control tools such as GitLab
- Experience with Salesforce
- Experience with Supercontrol
