Multi skilled Service Engineer required for field based role responsible for the service, repair and maintenance of heavy plant equipment on customer sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong fault finding and repair skills within a plant or processing environment such as petrochem, oil, gas, power generation, offshore etc.
The role will be primarily field based, with the rest of the time being spent in the Yorkshire office.
Responsibilities include:
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of components, equipment, valves, instrumentation and safety devices at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Perform routine inspections on components, equipment, valves and safety devices.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of service activities.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to improve product functionality and customer experience.
- Provide support to customers on the proper use of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while on-site.
The person:
- Proven experience as a Service Engineer with confident mechanical and/or electrical knowledge.
- Have confident knowledge of pipe work, pumps and valves.
- Ability to fault find, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems independently.
- Well presented, personable and professional with the ability to train customers.
- Be happy to travel regularly and stay away from home.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently while travelling to various locations.
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline or be time served.
- Hold a full, valid driving licence.
- Gas Safe Registration would be advantageous but not essential.
