Are you an apprentice trained Sheet Metal worker looking for an opportunity to share your skills and knowledge? We seek a dynamic and inspirational individual to train and mentor staff, multiskilling them across all areas of the fabrication process. The hours are flexible and we are happy to consider full or part time hours.
As the Sheet Metal Trainer, you will:
- Mentor and develop shop floor workers with the aim of multiskilling them across all areas of sheet metal work including press brakes, punch machines, plasma cutters and folding machines.
- Ensure they can undertake tooling changes, program set ups and quality checking.
- Ensure all staff work to high quality standards and within regulation guidelines.
- Undertake MIG welding training.
- Identify existing and future training needs.
- Teach staff to read and work to drawings effectively.
The successful candidate will:
- Be highly confident and experienced in welding, sheet metal, fabrication, and the operation of press brakes, plasma cutter, punch machines etc.
- Have enthusiasm and the ability to motivate and mentor others.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to present engineering instructions and skills effectively.
- Have served a full engineering apprenticeship.
- Have confident skills in health, safety and quality control.
