Aerospace engineering company in Bristol is recruiting for an Assistant Quality Manager who will lead a small team of Quality Inspectors and report to the Quality Manager.
The Assistant Quality Manager's role will involve the following:
- Leading and motivating a team of quality inspectors
- Responsible for the training and personal development of the team
- Managing the throughput of finished goods and the day-to-day management of the quality side of the subcontract supplier base
- FMEAs and FAIRs
- Supporting the requirements for documenting and maintaining records for these activities
- Performing CMM programming with Aberlink
- Being the link between a small team of quality inspectors and the Quality Manager
- Dealing with quality issues and delivering practical solutions on the shop floor and to colleagues
- Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Reviewing and interpreting route cards, process instructions, drawings, and inspection procedures to determine dimensions and tolerances
- Using all types of standard measuring equipment from time to time
- Working with and writing reports in accordance with AS9102
The role would suit someone who has quality engineering or quality management experience, leading the day-to-day supervision of a small team of quality inspectors or looking to further develop their career with relevant supervisory experience. Candidates would need to demonstrate experience in aerospace or precision engineering. Competent in CMM programming, Aberlink is of particular interest but for candidates with programming experience, training can be provided. Candidates suited to this role are likely to have a related engineering background, City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualifications, or HNC/D or degree educated and/or specific quality-related qualifications.
