Mechanical Fitter Up to £38k DOE, days regular Due to a continued success, a well-established engineering company has an interesting opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter who is looking to develop into leadership position. This is a hands-on role and duties include: * Producing quality assembled valves within the agreed production plan, this includes inhouse assembly and test of the full range of products. * Identifying and solving problems as they occur in conjunction with the supervisor and other departments and colleagues. * Driving works vehicle to sites to assist other fitters as and when required. * Eventually, gaining full responsibility for other Service Engineers and workshop staff in the absence of the Manufacturing Team Leader. * Learning how to coordinate the scheduling of all service activities and associated paperwork and actively working to develop the Apprentice Service Engineers enabling them to safely deliver all onsite service works. * Long term you will coordinate and supply the existing and all new service agreements. Being actively involved with building the relationships between the company and the customer, produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements. Requirements We would expect the Mechanical Fitter to be have completed a recognised apprenticeship, demonstrating a wide competence in all aspects of mechanical fitting, including an understanding of pneumatics, with over 5 years site experience. The role is physical and a number of areas are important including to be fit enough to deliver our Service Works and pass lung function, hearing and eye tests. Good written and oral communications ability and interpersonal skills are essential.
