Excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Graduate who has experience in a research capacity within a work based masters or PHD environment.
You will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems or components focusing on innovation and the practical application of mechanical principles to solve complex problems, while managing resources and providing design outputs, BOMS, documentation, and drawings.
The role:
- Independently design, document & analyse mechanical components.
- Select appropriate materials, processes and methods for designs.
- Perform detailed analysis and specification (e.g. tolerance and stress analysis).
- Document project progress, including design changes and test results.
- Support compliance with industry and company standards.
- Create, review and approve design documentation from team members.
- Develop detailed project plans for assigned tasks.
- Ensure projects stay on track to agreed timelines.
- Mentor junior engineers in technical execution.
- Coordinate tasks with cross-functional teams.
- Plan and execute performance tests for mechanical prototypes.
- Analyse test results and propose design improvements.
- Validate component and system compliance with standards.
- Present findings and designs to internal stakeholders.
The person:
- A Degree qualified engineer with post grad experience in a research setting.
- Mechanical Design knowledge ideally working with Solid Works.
- Be a hands-on engineer able to undertake prototype build and test.
- Be detail driven and a confident problem solver able to work independently.
- The ability to work in a rapid design and development environment.
