The Role
Our client, a leading provider in the Mechanical / Electrical / Construction industry, is seeking a visionary Managing Director to lead their Employee-Owned Business through its next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the Chairman, this role offers the opportunity to shape strategic direction, drive operational efficiency, and champion employee engagement. The MD will work collaboratively with the entire business, ensuring alignment with its high standards and culture of excellence.
- Developing and executing the company’s strategic plan to achieve growth and profitability targets.
- Identifying new market opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to drive expansion.
- Overseeing day-to-day operations across all departments, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality or client satisfaction.
- Managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
- Leading and inspiring the senior management team and employees across the business to deliver exceptional results.
- Fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Championing the Employee Ownership model to ensure alignment with its principles and values.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
- Representing the company at industry events and forums to enhance its profile.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including ISO and industry standards.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience as a Managing Director or senior executive, within the Mechanical / Electrical / Construction industry or a related sector. A strong track record of driving growth, operational efficiency, and a strategic approach to leadership is essential. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and financial management skills will be key to success in this role. This role could suit someone who has worked as a Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, or Senior Operations Director within the Mechanical / Electrical / Construction or related sectors.
