Mechanical Engineer required to work in a busy manufacturing environment undertaking planned and preventative maintenance of equipment as well as attending breakdowns and repairs. The role includes:
- Undertaking planned and preventative maintenance on a range of automated production equipment
- Attending breakdowns, fault finding and repair
- Assisting in the upgrading and installation of new manufacturing equipment
- Keeping records of service histories, maintenance visits etc.
- Fault finding on wiring, control panels and 3 phase motors
- Identifying and reporting problems to the Plant Manager and working to implement improvements where possible
- Manufacturing jigs, fixtures and test equipment, working with drills, grinders and lathes
- Maintaining conveyor systems, gears, rollers and motors
- Working with PLCs to identify faults
- Installation and maintenance of duct work and pipework
- Setting, operating and maintaining process control checks on production equipment
The person:
- You may have just completed your apprenticeship and be looking for your next role, a recent graduate or a confident mechanical fitter looking for a new challenge
- Hold a relevant engineering qualification to minimum NVQ level 3+ or be a time served fitter
- Have confident mechanical fitting skills
- Be keen to undertake additional training where appropriate
- Be happy to undertake physical work and occasionally work at heights
- Have confident fault finding and repair skills
We are seeking candidates who have had exposure to as many of the duties above as possible; however, the company is happy to provide training for any gaps in your experience.
