£32,000 to £34,000 per annum, Benefits include 33 days holiday, Pension, Employee welfare scheme, canteen and car parking - Permanent position - Mon to Fri, 7am to 4.30pm (11am on Fri), based in Gillingham, Kent.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Production Technician to join a leading manufacturer of stainless steel products on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Factory Manager and working as part of a team, this role would suit someone who has good experience of running and setting machines, as well as carrying out basic maintenance and repair on the machine.
Duties of the Production Technician will include:
- Set, adjust and maintain bespoke production machinery used for cutting, forming and assembling metal parts.
- Fault finding on production machinery to ensure smooth running and carrying out basic repairs.
- Liaising with management regarding production schedules.
- Work with production staff to resolve technical and setting issues, including liaising with toolroom and maintenance departments.
Skills and qualifications:
- Previous machine operating experience in an engineering or similar environment.
- Good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, coupled with a good mechanical knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work autonomously within a team environment.
- Working to ISO9001 standards.
- Strong communication skills.
This is a very hands-on role within a busy production environment, where you will be working to support customer demand. You will be working very closely with the Production Manager who will be able to offer additional support and training for the right candidate.
