Geospatial CAD Technician Knaresborough, £26217, temp to perm role An entry level position that will offer full training, development and progression for a someone with a keen interest in becoming a CAD or GIS Technician. The role will involve working from technical and geographical surveys and data to produce high quality drawings and reports in a variety of software including CAD, LiDAR and PLS CADD. The role would suit a graduate in Engineering, Civils, Environmental, Geography or Mathematics to work for a growing organisation who can offer excellent training and progression. Initially a temporary position for 6 months with the potential to go permanent. This geospatial processor role includes: Modelling Transmission lines within the PLS CADD environment to provided specifications, Produce Staking tables & PI reports for use in Meteorological Data, Forward Looking Imagery & Temperature Calculations as required. Produce Meteorological data independently, Produce Temperature calculations to pre-defined templates, Conduct simple transmission/distribution asset assessments against a set of defined criteria, Carry out Quality Control checks on the products produced from these workflows The role of Geospatial CAD Technician would suit candidates who: Have a mathematical mind and are great at problem solving and processing highly accurate data and calculations. Have graduated in a relevant degree and are seeking and opportunity in a CAD based role Are able to work in a time pressured and targets environment Have excellent attention to detail Be highly confident working with and learning new software Familiarity with common coordinate systems Working knowledge of any of the following software packages: Microstation, TerraSolid suite, PLS CADD, Global Mapper and Arc GIS would be of great interest and would awareness of the common sensors (aerial LiDAR and imaging systems) The company A forward-thinking business that works with the new and exciting technology to collate and process data for a range of industries including construction, environmental and civil engineering.
