Overview

The position is 47.5 hours per week, 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, based at one site – no travelling.

Salary: £40-50k basic (£16 to £20 per hour) depending on experience. Overtime paid at x1.5 after 47.5 hours and on Saturdays, x2 on Sundays.

Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays; increases by 2 days per year up to 30 days plus bank holidays.

Pension: Company contributions 7% and employee contributes 7%.

Environment: Industrial setting, fleet of heavy processing plant.

Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair loading shovels, 360 grabs, telehandlers, FLTs and other mobile plant.
  • Diagnose and resolve engine and hydraulic faults using diagnostic software.
  • Repair hydraulic systems including rams, axles and leaks.
  • Weld and fabricate when required, ensuring plant and equipment remain safe and operational.

Qualifications

  • Previous plant fitting experience and knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience using diagnostic software for fault finding.
  • Welding and fabrication capability.
  • Ability to work independently and follow site safety procedures.
