Due to securing multiple new contracts, our client based within a state of the art modern manufacturing facility on the Sheffield Rotherham boundary is looking to add Finishing Operatives to join their team on a full time permanent basis. They offer fantastic development and progression plans for candidates seeking long term roles including opportunities to achieve Welding qualifications which when completed lead to a salary increase of £3,000 per year.
As a Finishing Operative you will be reporting into the Finishing Supervisor and will be responsible for working as part of a small close knit team in a prestige environment. Day to day duties will include:
- Working with small hand and power tools
- Removing any defects from castings
- Using measuring equipment
- Reading from engineering drawings
- De-burring
- Water jet operating (£20 per day extra paid as a premium)
- Fettling / finishing
- Grinding
As a Finishing Operative you will be required to:
- Be Manually dexterous.
- Possess a willingness to work overtime as and when required.
- No experience required; full training will be given for the appropriate applicant.
- Have a positive and eager attitude towards work and learning new things.
- Have basic level mathematics.
This role would suit someone with experience of fettling, grinding, finishing, heat treatment, machine operating, quality inspection, water jet cutting, assembly or melting within a manufacturing, aerospace, production, steelworks, foundry, castings, automotive or engineering environment. The initial role is based on working rotating AM/ PM shifts (6am- 2pm/ 2pm- 10pm); the company is looking to introduce a night shift (10pm- 6am).
