We seek a dynamic Health Safety & Environmental professional to work within a volume manufacturing environment. The role would suit a candidate who has worked at this level or is looking for the next step in their career. As the HSE you will:
- Work with all staff to ensure legal compliance and best practice.
- Resolve health, safety and environmental issues in line with HSE policies & procedures.
- Develop safety strategies for the prevention of workplace accidents, investigate incidents and put in place prevention measures, produce risk assessments.
- Monitor and assess all departmental Health, Safety & Environmental issues and implement control measures to reduce risks.
- Advise on legal compliance and lead HSE meetings with reports, information on accident statistics, and information on new legislation.
- Develop and deliver HSE training to all staff.
- Work on health and safety projects.
- Support the management team in maintaining and continuously improving the Environmental Management System.
- Identify opportunities for continuous health, safety & environmental improvement and implement programmes to deliver these.
- Maintain the management of system ISO 14001.
- Manage all aspects of fire safety.
- Support the engineering team in the safe introduction of new machinery and equipment.
As the HSE you will:
- Have a proven background in driving HSE and implementing successful improvements.
- Have thorough knowledge of current HSE legislation.
- Ideally have experience of implementing ISO45000 & ISO 14001.
- Have confident knowledge of COSHH and Risk Assessment techniques together with Accident Investigation Procedures.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems related to manufacturing processes.
- Be IT literate and ideally have worked with Google reports.
- Have previous experience in volume manufacturing.
- Be degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent and hold or be studying toward NEBOSH Diploma.
