Working for a large established industrial agriculture and plant factory you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team. In the role of Lead Operative you will be responsible for management and performance of a designated production line(s), ensuring all aspects of Production are in accordance with compliance, quality standards and departmental KPIs. The working hours are 05:45 – 14:15.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise the shift team and relevant non-shift personnel working in Production
- Closely supervise and carry out inductions for any temporary staff employed in Production
- Participate in the daily Production huddles and ensure regular communication/briefings to provide the Production team with the relevant information to carry out their role to the maximum effect
- Carry out training as necessary in Production procedures, working practices and Company policy
- Implement the Production plan as efficiently as possible to maximise the throughput during your shift by organising staff in the best way to maximise effective and efficient output
- Suggest and help implement any cost-saving ideas or improvements
- Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures and customer standards, including but not limited to Health & Safety, Food Safety, Integrity & Quality and Equality & Diversity
- Maintain a high level of quality with a focus on zero defects
- Carry out QA checks and complete relevant documentation
The successful applicant will be expected to display the following skills and attributes:
- Experience working on a food production line
- Be competent at prioritisation of tasks with the ability to use initiative and be pro-active solving
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to hold others accountable whilst maintaining positive relationships with the ability to be able to give clear instructions to a diverse group and get the best out of the team
- Be a good team player, supporting the shift managers with effective use of the team, coaching and supporting others and recognising any issues promptly and communicating these efficiently
- Confident, reliable, accurate, self-motivated, inquisitive and proficient in IT
