Our client is looking to appoint an experienced, proactive and hands-on Warehouse & Logistics Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of their busy warehouse.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading from the front, developing a high-performing team and driving operational excellence.
Managing a team of up to 10 Warehouse Executives, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing and despatch of products, whilst maintaining high levels of stock accuracy and customer service.
You will also oversee production scheduling for bespoke orders, coordinate equipment projects, and work closely with other departments to ensure the warehouse operates safely, efficiently and continuously improves.
Key Responsibilities of Warehouse and Logistics Manager
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and outstanding customer service.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Warehouse Executives, creating a positive, high-performance culture.
- Work alongside the team when required, supporting picking, packing, replenishment, goods receiving and despatch activities.
- Allocate workloads and manage priorities to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Coordinate production schedules for bespoke orders, ensuring work is completed efficiently and dispatched on time.
- Oversee equipment project orders, ensuring stock availability, assembly requirements and deliveries are effectively planned and executed.
- Manage incoming deliveries, checking stock, resolving discrepancies and ensuring products are accurately booked in and stored.
- Maintain excellent stock accuracy through regular cycle counts, stock investigations and inventory control.
- Monitor warehouse performance, productivity and resource requirements, adapting plans to meet changing business demands.
- Ensure the warehouse remains organised, safe and fully compliant with all Health & Safety procedures.
- Work closely with Operations, Customer Service, Purchasing and Sales to ensure effective communication regarding stock availability, delivery schedules and operational priorities.
- Produce regular reports covering warehouse performance, stock integrity, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Motivate the team to consistently achieve high standards while remaining agile and responsive to unexpected customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with our courier partners, managing day-to-day operational requirements and holding them accountable for service performance through regular review meetings and agreed KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, efficiency and customer service, helping to support the continued growth of the business.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader or Warehouse Manager.
- A strong background in warehouse operations, including goods-in, inventory management, order fulfilment and despatch.
- Proven experience leading, motivating and developing warehouse teams.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across departments.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with sound decision-making skills.
- Good knowledge of warehouse Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Experience using warehouse management, inventory or ERP systems.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- A positive attitude towards continuous improvement and adapting to changing business needs.
