The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 ยฃ per year.
You will report directly to the Group Finance Director and be responsible for partnering the business with a focus on value creation. This will include supporting with the preparation of Group management information and analysis monthly, commentary on the business performance in relation to projects and WIP, interrogation of data to drive best practice and continuous improvement. You will be based at the Gillingham office, although travel within the UK/overseas may be necessary at times. You will work Monday-Thursday with week 1 Friday off and week 2 Friday working 4 hours. The working hours are flexible starting between 07:00-09:00 and finishing between 16:15-18:15 Monday-Thursday, same start time on the Friday worked but finishing between 11:00-13:00.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the consistent financial planning, forecasting and analysis of cost activities to ensure accurate reporting to support the companyโs management in business decision making.
- Responsible for accurate and timely cost & revenue reporting for the individual and consolidated financial result.
- Financial process ownership of Project systems including WIP and stock. Contributes to policy development and customization of procedures and practices.
- Personnel cost and headcount finance process ownership.
- Support Group Finance Director with coordination of monthly close, forecast, budget and latest estimate activities including interpretation of variances and advice to management.
- Owner of financial investment process for capital expenditure including capex approval system.
- Identify and support with process optimisation and continuous improvement activities.
- Participation and leadership in ad-hoc business development projects.
- Detailed understanding of the manufacturing business processes and information flows including cross functional cross overs. Conducts analyses and provides recommendations for improvements of operations.
- To support the Group Finance Director with ad-hoc assignments as required.
Financial Accounting
- Assist with maintaining and controlling (and implement where deemed necessary) strong financial controls within the Group.
- Reconcile stock for month end reporting - Sage and Javelin.
- Reconcile and monitor for accuracy work in progress for month end reporting.
- Assist with the preparation and consolidation of Group budgets.
- Assist with the production and consolidation of monthly Group management accounts in accordance with the month-end timetable.
- Variance analysis and preparation of commentary to accompany monthly Group management accounts.
- Assist with the year-end audit process throughout the Group to ensure that it runs smoothly.
- Maintain knowledge of UK GAAP issues and ensure compliance.
- Provide cover for other roles within the finance team as and when necessary.
Person Specification
- Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience in a Management Accountant or Business Partnering role.
- Expertise in management accounting, financial performance reporting and financial control in a Group environment.
- High level of commercial business acumen preferably gained in a project or manufacturing background.
- Excellent people skills to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to present financial information to all levels within the organisation.
- Strong communication skills, including ability to build relations across the Group.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to solve problems.
- Excellent Excel skills including use of pivot tables and complex formulae.
- Meticulous attention to detail, confidence, good judgement showing logical decision making and a hands-on approach in a dynamic environment.
- Proactive, well organised with strength in prioritising and ability to respond to changing business needs.
