This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK\’s leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.Technology Design ManagerFull timeSouthampton / Hybrid, United KingdomProject supportWe are currently recruiting for a to join our Energy sector, where we deliver critical infrastructure engineering projects throughout the UKResponsibilities Being responsible for end-to-end security design on energy infrastructure projects, to include;Leading Security Design Projects; overseeing the creation of detailed design proposals for electronic security systems (video surveillance, access control, fence/perimeter detection, etc.),Ensuring designs meet the client\’s protection requirements and industry standardsDeveloping solutions from concept through to detailed designImproving designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness without compromising securityCoordinating with stakeholders (clients, law enforcement, consultants, Trant Design Team), to deliver designs on time and within budgetOverseeing the security plan implementation, risk assessments and technical reviews to assure protection of sitesServing as the technical authority to ratify and approve security system designsEnsuring all designs comply with relevant British standards, regulatory requirements and any client-specific requirementsRemaining involved through implementation, supporting system commissioning and testingConducting site inspections to understand on-the-ground conditions and integrate those insights into the designIdentifying vulnerabilities and recommending enhancementsMonitoring the progress of security enhancement programmes and integrating emerging security technologies are part of continuous improvementQualifications/Background BEng/MEng in relevant engineering discipline i.e. Electrical/Electronic EngineeringPrevious/current experience of delivering security system designDemonstrable expertise CCTV, access control and intruder detection system designKnowledge of critical infrastructure security standards within the UKHave the ability to read and produce technical drawingsExperience of National Grid projects would be advantageousAdvanced knowledge of design packages such as AutocadFully IT literateAbout us Trant Engineering Ltd has a long history of engineering and construction excellence, delivering high quality EPC engineering and construction services throughout the UK and overseas.
