The Plant Apprentice will learn and develop skills in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant machinery under the guidance of experienced technicians. This role provides hands-on training and formal qualifications to build a career in technical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with inspections, servicing, hire and repairs of plant equipment and tools.
  • Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Assembling machine parts and components.
  • Using hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Reading basic engineering drawings and diagrams.
  • Measuring and checking tolerances accurately.
  • Installing or removing mechanical equipment.

Compliance: Maintain compliance with internal Company procedures.

System Management: Help maintain accurate service records and job sheets.

Learning and Development

  • Learn how machinery and mechanical systems work.
  • Follow training instructions from experienced fitters and supervisors.
  • Develop practical engineering and fitting skills over time.
  • Attend college or apprenticeship training sessions if part of the programme.

Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental:

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
