With over 1,000 employees and a £150m turnover, we’re growing—and now looking for an Electrical Apprentice to play a key role in our project delivery teams.

The Role: This apprenticeship combines structured off-the-job learning with hands-on site experience, enabling the apprentice to develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to become a fully qualified Electrician working on critical water and infrastructure assets.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Electrical Installation Support: Assist electricians with installation of containment, cabling, glands, terminations, and electrical equipment. Support installation of motors, pumps, control panels, MCCs, junction boxes, and instrumentation interfaces. Prepare tools, materials, and work areas for electrical tasks. Assist with testing, inspection, and basic commissioning activities under supervision.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Work in compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and all site HSE procedures. Follow safe systems of work, including isolation and permit-to-work procedures. Wear appropriate PPE and use tools and equipment safely. Participate in site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings. Report hazards, near-misses, and incidents immediately.
  • Quality & Compliance: Follow drawings, method statements, and instructions provided by supervisors. Assist in ensuring electrical works meet quality, regulatory, and client standards. Learn and apply QA/QC processes relevant to electrical installations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Assist in completing daily work records, timesheets, and material usage logs. Support electricians with basic installation, testing, and commissioning documentation. Maintain personal training records and site competency evidence where required.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary site team including electrical, mechanical, civil, and process operatives. Follow instructions from electricians, senior electricians, and supervisors. Communicate clearly regarding work progress, access requirements, and site conditions. Support coordination of electrical activities with other trades to maintain programme and safety.
