The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to manage our civil engineering contract at Fawley refinery in Southampton. This is a senior position, and the Project Manager is responsible for the safe, timely and profitable delivery of all projects at the refinery, comprising of civil engineering, facilities management and reactive maintenance.

This is a full-time site-based, working 45 hours each week Monday to Friday.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Performing a leadership role, responsible for overseeing all live projects at Fawley refinery
  • Overseeing a large team of 75+ at any one time
  • Responsible for commercial performance and interaction with the commercial team
  • Working closely with the SHEQ team to ensure the safe delivery of works, updating on environmental issues, and ensuring quality
  • Reviewing upcoming work and working with the bid team to produce tenders
  • Attending progress meetings
  • Taking responsibility for the programme and working closely with the Planning team
  • Carry out regular site visits, ensuring consistently high standards of safety and quality at all times
  • Problem solving and people management and leading by example
  • Influence change and improvement
  • Client interface; attending regular meetings with the client and reporting on the projects and completion timelines
  • Representing Trant at union meetings and working closely with the unions
  • Working very closely with the commercial team and ensuring projects are being managed in line with the contract

Skills, knowledge & qualification requirements;

  • BEng/HND in Civil Engineering
  • CSCS
  • A background of delivering civil engineering projects within an Oil & Gas/Petrochem environment is preferred but not essential
  • Appreciation / solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • A strong manager of people
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels
