The Role

As an Apprentice Site Civil Engineer you will gain hands‑on site experience supporting the delivery of civil engineering works with exposure to earthworks, drainage, foundations, concrete structures, and associated civil infrastructure. The role provides a structured learning environment to develop practical skills, health & safety awareness, and civil engineering knowledge.

Technical Responsibilities - Civil Engineering Support

  • Assist Site Engineers in the supervision and inspection of civil works.
  • Support site setting‑out, verification, and measurement of civil works.
  • Help monitor progress and quality of earthworks, foundations, drainage, and concrete works.
  • Report observations and site issues to supervising engineers.

Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality & Compliance

  • Follow all site health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Attend toolbox talks, site inductions, and training sessions.
  • Learn to implement safe systems of work on site.
  • Support inspections, testing, and documentation of civil works.
  • Help ensure works meet design, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in compiling site documentation.

Learning & Development

  • Participate in structured on‑the‑job training and mentoring from Senior and Site Engineers.
  • Develop understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and site management processes.
  • Complete any associated classroom or online training modules as part of the apprenticeship programme.
