Trant Engineering Limited is a multi-discipline Engineering & Construction company, with offices and projects throughout the UK and Overseas. We have a dedicated Plant and Transport division that services and maintains our fleet of vehicles and plant across the business, and we are currently looking for a Plant Fitter to join our existing team.
The Plant Fitter will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair and safe operations of our plant machinery. The role ensures that all equipment is compliant with safety regulations, operates efficiently and supports uninterrupted site operations in compliance with legal and manufacturer standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair plant equipment (excavators, loaders, cranes).
- Carry out mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
- Service and repair company vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles meet roadworthiness and legal compliance standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies.
- Identify hazards and report defects or unsafe equipment immediately.
- Support audits and inspections.
- Input of assets onto ERP (COINS).
Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental:
- Support compliance to health and safety standards within the business unit and workshop.
- NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
