As a Health & Safety Advisor, you'll be at the heart of site operations providing hands-on, practical SHE support across multiple projects. This is a predominantly site-based role (approx. 85%), working closely with operational teams to ensure safe delivery from planning through to completion.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Delivering expert SHE advice in line with UK legislation and best practice
- Conducting site inspections, audits, and safety observations
- Supporting risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
- Leading or assisting incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Driving compliance with CDM Regulations and HSE requirements
- Engaging site teams through toolbox talks, briefings, and training
- Supporting project mobilisation, inductions, and site setup
- Monitoring subcontractor compliance and performance
- Promoting a proactive, positive safety culture across sites
What We're Looking For:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3)
- Experience in construction, engineering, utilities, water, or energy sectors
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation
- Proven ability to carry out audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience working across multiple sites/projects
- Desirable:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- IOSH membership (TechIOSH / working towards CertIOSH)
- Experience in water, wastewater, energy, or renewables
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 systems
