We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Graduate to join our team here at Trant. The Environmental Graduate will join our Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) team at the Trant Head Office in Southampton, where you will be working within the team to promote and deliver the highest levels of SHEQ across our Process & Water and Energy sectors. In 2025, Trant was awarded RoSPA Patron's Award (37 Consecutive Golds) for health and safety performance and together with the other members of the SHEQ team, you will support various Managers and site teams to advise on actions for improvement and measure the effectiveness of change. This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate to start their career, working within a talented SHEQ team and with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, working towards the same goal of delivering interesting & technical engineering projects safely and to the highest standards.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Communicating Environmental & Sustainability requirements across the company
- Monitoring and measuring management system effectiveness, including Data/Root Cause Analysis, auditing (corrective and improvement action) and report writing
- Ensuring improvement actions are implemented and closed within the agreed timescales
- Environmental planning activities
- Supply Chain assessments and monitoring
- Supporting construction/project teams
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites within the UK when required
About the Graduate Scheme: The recently updated and improved Trant Graduate Scheme is offered to all Graduates joining the business. This is a period of training and development over 24 months, where you are assigned a mentor to carry out basic training associated with your discipline to enable you to move from a Graduate Environmental Advisor to an Environmental Advisor and to a Senior Environmental Advisor. You will be given the opportunity to work within our various divisions to gain a variety of project experience whilst being guided by a mentor and you will achieve competency in a range of environmental and sustainability tasks. You will also be offered membership of the Trant Career Development Association, where you will be provided mentored guidance and support to achieve accreditation and membership with the Chartered Institution of Water & Environmental Management (CIWEM). During this time, goals will be set to help you develop your skills and reach your potential and at the end of the 24 months, you should be a competent Environmental Advisor and will be well on your journey towards chartership and growing your career.
