Civils Operatives to play a key role in our project delivery team on our energy project, initially based at our site near Romsey.
The Role You'll be assisting site teams with general civils construction operations, hand digging around complex services, drainage, pipe laying, concrete, maintaining site cleanliness, transporting materials, and ensuring compliance with health & safety standards.
Applications are welcome from skilled groundworkers and machine drivers (360 / dumper) who are interested to join us on a long term basis.
Our projects are nationwide so applicants must be willing to work away when necessary (Monday to Friday only).
- What Youll Be Doing
- 1) Technical Responsibilities - Site Operations
• Reporting to our foremen, duties include but are not limited to
- General civils construction operations.
- Drainage, pipe laying, concrete.
- Hand digging around complex services.
- Promotion of safety within safety critical environment.
- Holding permits to work, etc.
- 2) Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality
- Follow all site health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and near-misses to supervisors.
- Participate in toolbox talks, site briefings, and site inductions.
- Assist in maintaining site standards, cleanliness, and organisation.
- Identify obvious defects or issues and report them to supervisors.
- Report any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns to Ganger or Site Engineer.
- 3) Stakeholder Communication
- Work under the supervision of a Ganger, Site Supervisor, or Site Manager
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and report Issues promptly.
- Support the team to meet daily targets and maintain site efficiency.

- CSCS Card
- Applicants will need to be reliable and responsible with a good awareness of health and safety in the workplace and a strong work ethic.
- Applicants must have the existing right to work in the UK, as we are unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
Desirable
- CPCS / NPORS 360 above / below 10 tonne.
- CPCS / NPORS Dumper & Roller.
- NVQ Level 2 Civil Engineering / Construction / Groundworks.
- Confined Space Awareness.
- Previous experience in a relevant construction operational role (3+ Years).
