Trant Engineering Ltd is seeking an Environment & Sustainability Advisor to join our growing team and play a key role in embedding sustainability across our projects and operations nationwide.
Working closely with the Environment & Sustainability Manager, you'll provide practical advice and hands-on support to project teams, helping drive environmental compliance, reduce impacts, and deliver meaningful sustainability improvements across the business.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out site visits and inspections to assess environmental compliance, identify risks, and support project teams with practical solutions.
- Delivering toolbox talks and training, raising awareness of sustainability challenges and best practice.
- Providing environmental and sustainability advice across the full project lifecycle, including review of ecology surveys, permits, CEMPs and waste management plans.
- Supporting the development and improvement of company procedures and management systems.
- Assisting with the investigation of environmental incidents.
- Supporting greenhouse gas data management and Scope 1-3 reporting, including client reporting and disclosures.
- Helping implement initiatives that support Net Zero and carbon reduction targets, including across subsidiary businesses.
- Engaging with clients and supply chain partners to promote sustainable working practices.
- Contributing to tender submissions and business development activities.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
What we're looking for:
- A degree in an environmental or engineering-related discipline (or similar).
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as IEMA or CIWEM.
- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability challenges in construction and engineering.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and genuine passion for sustainability.
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Full UK driving licence.
