The Plant Apprentice will learn and develop skills in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant machinery under the guidance of experienced technicians. This role provides hands-on training and formal qualifications to build a career in technical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with inspections, servicing, hire and repairs of plant equipment and tools.
- Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Assembling machine parts and components.
- Using hand tools and power tools safely.
- Reading basic engineering drawings and diagrams.
- Measuring and checking tolerances accurately.
- Installing or removing mechanical equipment.
Compliance
- Maintain compliance with internal Company procedures.
System Management
- Help maintain accurate service records and job sheets.
Learning and Development
- Learn how machinery and mechanical systems work.
- Follow training instructions from experienced fitters and supervisors.
- Develop practical engineering and fitting skills over time.
- Attend college or apprenticeship training sessions if part of the programme.
Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
