With over 1,000 employees and a Β£150m turnover, were growingand now looking for an experienced Senior EICA Design Engineer to play a key role in our project delivery teams.\n \nThe Senior EICA Design Engineer role involves applying extensive engineering knowledge and leadership skills to manage complex projects and guide technical teams. This position requires independent judgment, advanced problem-solving, and the ability to adapt engineering practices to meet project objectives. Responsibilities include overseeing scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring compliance with standards, and promoting sustainability principles throughout the project lifecycle. The role also demands strong communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and represent the organization professionally. What Youll Be Doing GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS \n \n Independently applies extensive and diverse knowledge of EICA engineering principles and practices across broad areas of assignments and related fields. \n Modifies or extends accepted theories and practices to complete complex assignments. \n Demonstrates professional attitudes such as creativity, curiosity, flexibility, and dependability. \n Actively promotes consideration of sustainability principles throughout the design lifecycle. \n Keeps informed of updates to standards, regulations, and best practices. \n \n TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES \n \n Leads tasks and projects of moderately complex scope or major project components. \n Designs complete projects, systems, components, or processes. \n Develops EICA specifications, drawings, and other project documents. \n Reviews complete project documentation for compliance and quality assurance. \n Analyzes complex engineering projects to determine design requirements, uncertainties, and constraints. \n Formulates solutions for unconventional or challenging engineering problems. \n Assists upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor. \n \n SCHEDULE, PROJECT & TASK MANAGEMENT \n \n Develops work plans with resource-loaded schedules, scopes, and budgets. \n Performs basic schedule analysis and assesses project risks. \n Reviews and monitors scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. \n Leads tasks on major projects or multiple projects of moderate scope with complex features. \n Proactively implements change management practices and assesses the commercial impact of decisions. \n \n MANAGEMENT, SUPERVISION & GUIDANCE \n \n Supervises all staff necessary to complete assignments. \n Mentors direct reports and other engineers, providing guidance and reviewing work outputs. \n Receives supervision and guidance on overall objectives, critical issues, and policy matters. \n Provides direction on unusual conditions and developments. \n \n COMMUNICATION, TEAMWORK & LEADERSHIP \n \n Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills, including interpretation of complex technical and contractual language. \n Communicates professionally with colleagues, clients, and design partners. \n Leads project meetings and represents the organization in communications related to engineering assignments. \n Considers the needs of diverse project stakeholders and fosters inclusion. \n Sustains a team culture built around Trants core values. \n Demonstrates empathy, critical listening, and effective conflict resolution skills. \n \n CORE VALUES Upholds and promotes the Companys Core Values Care, Trust, Respect and Sustainability. What Were Looking For Essential \n \n Higher Education (NVQ+) \n Desirable \n \n Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline (Masters preferred). \n Incorporated/Chartered Membership of a Professional Engineering Institution \n CSCS Card or SHEA Water Qualification \n EUSR Water Hygiene Qualification \n Experience \n \n Typically 7+ years of engineering experience, including project leadership and technical oversight. \n Why Join Trant?
