PG has recently partnered with a construction consultancy in London, we are collaborating to add 5x Building Safety Regulation Principal Designers (BSR PDs).
My client has offices in London, Essex, Kent, Bristol and Birmingham. We are looking for talented individuals in each location to provide accurate Building Safety advice. You the successful Building Safety Consultant will work in the H&S division shoulder to shoulder with CDM/Principal Design professionals.
You will work across a diverse client portfolio providing a full range of BSA services on structures in the hotel, commercial, residential, leisure, office, industrial, manufacturing, sport and education sectors. Providing competent and accurate advice on HRBs (high rise buildings) and influencing design plans.
The practice has an impressive pipeline of instructions going well into 2026, the BSR PD will deliver several schemes as the lead BSA professional. This opportunity will be great for someone who comes from either a Building Inspector/Control or Architectural background.

Daily responsibilities
- Offer advice around the Building Safety Act
- Liaise with Principal Designers, Principal Contractors, Architects and other stakeholders ensuring building regulations are being upheld
- Attend client and design team meetings providing professional expertise
- Inspect structures and buildings at key stages of design process
- Ensure projects are completed in line with current building regulations and legislation
- Collaborate with external stakeholders through design and build, providing regular input and influence on schemes.
- Trouble shoot obstacles and delays
- Manage client and contractor relationships, provide regular updates on schemes
BSR Principal Designer
- Ideally degree educated with a construction related degree or alternative
- Membership to RICS, CIOB, RIBA or CABE
- Extensive building regulations knowledge (Class 2F & 3H)
- Proven experience from a Building Inspector/Control or Architectural design background
- Registered on BSR design register (desirable)
- Excellent knowledge of BSA 2022 regulations
- Client facing demeanour, interpersonal communication skills
- Full UK drivers licence
