Student Nursing Associate Apprenticeship
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Nursing Associate Apprenticeship within mental health and learning disability services at Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Services include Acutes, Children and Young People, Learning Disabilities and Forensics.
Our Level 5 Nursing Associate (NMC 2018) apprenticeship scheme is run in partnership with a leading provider, Leeds Trinity University, to ensure you are fully supported through a high‑quality training programme. The apprenticeship will provide you with valuable experience and offer a strong foundation for future careers.
Whilst completing your apprenticeship programme you will be a Band 3 Support Worker. You will be expected to fulfil the full role and responsibilities by the end of the training period, and a development plan will be put in place by your line manager confirming the competencies they expect you to develop during that time. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will progress to band 4 as a Nursing Associate.
You will be supported with your learning and the skills needed to undertake the role. This support will be provided by your manager, mentor, learning provider, and other professional colleagues.
The course requires that you must have evidence of Maths and English at Level 2 (GCSE Grades 4‑9 or Grades A‑C or equivalent).

Job Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on promoting health and independence.
- Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values.
- Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
- Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or other registered care professionals dependent on setting.
- Work with a mentor to take responsibility for developing own clinical competence, leadership and reflective practice skills within the workplace, while on placements and through attending the Nursing Associate Training Programme.
- Provide feedback to assist in the evaluation of the Nursing Associate Apprenticeship programme.
- Develop by the end of the Nursing Associate Training Programme the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individuals defined plan of care, within the parameters of the role.

Essential Qualifications
