Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disabilities Nurse looking for an opportunity to influence the care and wellbeing of older people? The Mount Hospital in Leeds seeks experienced Band 5 nurses to join dedicated teams in a stimulating, friendly and caring environment.
The Mount is a mental health unit in Leeds City Centre with 4 wards providing acute inpatient care for older people with dementia and acute mental health needs. The service encourages staff development, innovation and person-centred care, with on-going support including appraisals, personal development plans, study opportunities and clinical supervision.
Responsibilities
- As Staff Nurse you will be responsible for efficiently coordinating and managing day-to-day care on the ward.
- You will be a confident role model, providing leadership to a team of support workers and other junior colleagues and students.
- You will work with service users, families and other carers to assess needs, develop care plans and implement planned interventions.
- You must be able to adapt your approach to fit individual needs and adjust routines to the tempo of ward activities.
- You will contribute to the effective running of the service and future service development as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- A flexible, innovative and creative approach to care and commitment to working with different disciplines is essential.
- The Mount provides a learning environment for students; a positive attitude towards learners and their development is expected.

Qualifications
- Registered Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disabilities Nurse (Band 5) with experience in adult mental health and older people services.
