Trust Locum Consultant Psychiatrist – Leeds & York partnership are seeking Trust Locum Psychiatrists to join various teams across the Trust. These posts offer an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic organisation. Working as a locum doctor in the Trust offers flexibility in that it is an opportunity to familiarise yourself with LYPFT and provides Consultant experience whilst considering substantive options. All our Trust locum positions will be advertised substantively too. These posts do not require you to attend an AAC, but there will be a formal interview process. The terms and conditions are the same as for a substantively recruited Consultant and there is flexibility in length of appointment of between 6 to 23 months. A variety of posts are available across many specialities.
The posts attract a competitive starting salary for newly qualified consultants commencing on point 5 of the consultant pay scale, annual leave. Vacancies available:
- CMHT – Working Age Adult (full and less‑than‑full‑time across all localities)
- Crisis Assessment Unit / S136 / street triage
- Leeds Forensic Services (community and inpatient)
- York Forensic Services (inpatient)
- Acute Male Inpatients (less than full‑time at 5 PAs)
- Community Learning Disabilities
- CAMHs inpatients at Red Kite View

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. Person Specification – Essential Qualifications
- MBChB; MRCPsych, CCT in relevant specialist area (or within 6 months of obtaining)
- AC and S12 approved (or within 3 months of obtaining)

- Evidence of being able to work well in MDT setting; leadership skills required
