Advanced Speech and Language Therapist

Job Summary

Advanced Speech and Language Therapist – part‑time (pro rata) position at Transskribo, Mill Lodge, York. The post-holder will provide a specialist Speech and Language Therapy service to CAMHS inpatient mental health service users and contribute to the development of a SaLT service for people with mental health conditions, including support for those with Autism.

Main Duties

• Deliver specialist SLT within multi‑disciplinary settings, working independently and as part of the MDT.
• Provide dysphagia competencies and assessment and treatment of a child’s communication, speech, language and social interaction.
• Support and collaborate with the AHP team, SLT forum, Principal SLT and older peoples’ services team.
• Engage in joint MDT working, personal development and research interests.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

• HCPC registered SLT.
• Current UK professional registration.

Essential Experience

• Experience working in mental health or with children and young people.

Essential Skills

• Assessment and treatment of a child\’s communication, speech, language and social interaction.
• Ability to work effectively and independently within multi‑disciplinary settings.

Employment Details

• Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 a year (pro rata).
• Contract: Permanent part‑time.
