Our flagship product, Passenger Assistance, has transformed the way disabled and older passengers request and receive help when travelling, setting a new standard for dignity and reliability. Alongside this, our broader platform is designed to make travel and experiences easier and more accessible across a range of sectors, empowering businesses to deliver seamless, inclusive customer journeys.
Our culture is open and transparent; we share knowledge, experience and encourage everyone to contribute so we can all learn together. We actively encourage and support self-development. We listen respectfully, ensuring everyone's opinions are equally heard and carefully considered. We all work together, collaborating effectively across teams, departments, and locations. We strive for best practice in all we do: treating our clients fairly and communicating transparently across colleagues, associates and business partners.
About the Role: We're looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who will act as a development partner rather than a traditional QA resource. This role is highly collaborative and embedded within our feature development process. This person will work closely with developers to ensure that automated tests align with business requirements and provide meaningful coverage without wasting effort on unnecessary edge cases.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with developers during feature development to design and implement automated tests that validate core business functionality.
- Own and enhance unit and integration testing across our services and platforms.
- Write and maintain automated test suites that are robust, scalable, and integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Advise on testability and quality during code reviews and architecture discussions.
- Ensure that tests are business-driven, focusing on real-world scenarios rather than exhaustive edge cases.
- Partner with teams across Ruby backend services and iOS/Android workstreams to ensure consistent quality standards.
Technical Environment:
- Primary backend: Ruby / RSpec
- Working with iOS / Android developers is likely
- Testing focus: Automated testing (not manual QA)
About You: Good experience in test automation frameworks and tools (preferably in Ruby and mobile ecosystems). Strong understanding of the SDLC—this is a coding-heavy role, not manual testing. Ability to think like a developer and contribute to code quality, not just test coverage. Comfortable working in cross-functional teams, influencing developers and product managers on quality strategies. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows.
Benefits:
- Company Pension Scheme to support your long-term financial wellbeing.
- Private healthcare coverage for you and your kids after the probationary period.
- Tech & Cycle Scheme.
- Free Flu Jab for you and your family members.
- Company issued laptop.
- Generous paid time off and flexible working hours to promote work-life balance.
- Maternity, paternity, and adoption leave to support growing families.
- A collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity and teamwork.
