Reporting Line
The Group Finance Manager will act as the senior operational lead for the Financefunction and serve as the primary liaison between the Finance Department andsenior management.
- Core responsibilities
- Management accounts andmonthly reporting.
- Accounts payable andreceivable oversight.
- Cash flow, bankreconciliations and treasury controls.
- Payroll, expenses andsupplier/customer finance queries.
- VAT, corporation taxsupport and statutory accounts preparation.
- Liaison with auditors, accountants, banks and senior management.
- Supervision anddevelopment of the finance/accounts team.
- Maintaining financialcontrols, approvals and compliance processes.
- Strategic responsibilities
- Provide finance inputinto pricing, margin analysis and commercial decisions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
- Support Information and Compliance (ISO) committee when required
- Support acquisitions, integrations or group-level projects where required.
Key Responsibilities
The Group Finance Manager will be responsible for
- Leading the day-to-day operation of the Accounts Department.
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, credit control and supplier payments.
- Preparing monthly management accounts, cash flow reports, financialforecasts and budget updates.
- Managing bank reconciliations, payment controls, cash flowmonitoring and treasury administration.
- Supporting preparation of VAT returns, statutory accounts, corporation tax information and audit schedules.
- Liaising with external auditors, accountants, banks, customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintaining appropriate internal controls, approval workflows andfinance procedures.
- Supervising, supporting and developing Accounts Department staff.
- Providing finance input into pricing, margin analysis, contractreview and commercial decision-making.
- Supporting finance system improvements, automation, reportingdashboards and adoption of new tools.
- Manage themonthly payroll process in conjunction with HR, ensuring all salarychanges, bonuses, commissions, pension contributions, benefits, deductionsand statutory payments are accurately processed and paid on time.
- Work closelywith HR to ensure payroll records are accurate, compliant and properlyauthorised, including new starters, leavers, contractual changes andemployee benefits administration.
- Ensurecompliance with HMRC requirements, pension regulations and payroll-relatedstatutory reporting obligations.
Ensure a smooth and effective transitionof responsibilities from the current postholder, maintaining continuity offinancial operations and controls.
Requirements
- Significantprofessional experience in accounting, finance and budget administrationwith team responsibility
- Experience of leadingbanking relationships and associated financing/refinancing processes -given this organisation's funding requirements, this is a key area
Able to communicate confidently, influence constructively and challenge colleagues appropriately and respectfully at all levels of the business.
- Demonstrable experienceof ability to apply conceptual, analytical and evaluative skills inaccounting operations and to provide technical advice to senior management
- Strong customer orientation: able to establish and maintain strongpartnerships with customers by gaining their trust and respect and totranslate commercial requirements into a practical application withinfinance practices.

Demonstrates proactive adoption ofautomation, AI-enabled tools and process improvements to enhance Finance Department efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Skills/Attributes Required
ACA, ACCA, CIMA or part-qualified orqualified-by-experience.
The Company may also consider candidates who arepart-qualified, qualified by experience, or willing to undertake relevantprofessional development.
Professionalexperience in accounting, finance, cash flow management, asset management andbudget administration with team responsibility.
Overallaccountability for the accurate and timely execution of payroll, working inpartnership with HR and external payroll providers where applicable
Experience of payroll administrationand payroll controls, working closely with HR and external payroll providerswhere applicable
Experience of leading bankingrelationships and associated financing/refinancing processes.
- Leadershipand supervision of the existing Finance team
- Ableto establish and maintain strong partnerships with customers and suppliers
Overallaccountability for preparation of Financial forecast models, business plans, internal controls reporting etc.
Strongworking knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or equivalent finance systems, business intelligence toolsand appropriate use of AI/LLM tools.
Demonstratesproactive adoption of automation, AI-enabled tools and process improvementsto enhance Finance Department efficiency and reporting accuracy
