Wellglade Limited - Group Engineering Director

The Wellglade Group operates a modern fleet of over 400 buses from six operating locations in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire through four operating subsidiaries, the largest of which is the award-winning and nationally renowned trentbarton. The business has been independently owned for 36 years. The Group is seeking to appoint a Group Engineering Director based at Heanor, Derbyshire to be responsible to the Group Chief Executive Officer for the safe and compliant maintenance and servicing of its fleet and the daily delivery of the specified vehicle requirement to each operating subsidiary. You will lead an experienced team of Engineering Managers and a total of around 100 engineering staff. Your responsibilities will include: The safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of the Group’s engineering division. The maintenance of the Group’s operating licences. Full compliance with all transport legislation. Development of the Group’s procurement and delivery strategy at commercially sustainable cost levels. We are looking for someone who can work as part of a close executive team and deliver a first-class service to colleagues within challenging cost budgets. Possession of a current Transport Manager qualification is essential. The salary is negotiable, and we are prepared to offer a remuneration package that the right candidate believes to be appropriate.
