We are looking to urgently recruit a mobile PSV Vehicle Technician to repair, maintain and service our fleet of Minibuses out in the field and also to work from the Billingborough and Lincoln Workshops as required. Ideally, the candidate will live in the Horncastle-Louth-Boston-Sleaford areas. This will involve planned and unplanned maintenance and repair and must continuously provide roadworthy vehicles for the delivery of our DRT CallConnect Contracts.
Hours of Work will be Monday - Thursday 07:00-16:00 and Friday 08:00-13:00 (39 Hours, includes lunch break). The Salary will be £35,490.00 p.a. Overtime paid at x1.5 (time and a half) during evenings and Saturday or can be given as time in lieu. A van will be provided as this is a field-based role.

Main responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain all TransportConnect vehicles with a focus on PSV vehicles based over a number of depots in the Lincolnshire area.
- Carry out repairs at other sites where necessary.
- Explore alternative solutions and recommend courses of action in consultation with your line manager and other workshop staff through the use of diagnostic equipment, in order to resolve problems in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain all workshop equipment to the highest standards, ensuring that worn or damaged parts and equipment are reported to line management and replaced or repaired as soon as possible, in order to facilitate the effective running and use of the Workshops.
- Undertake routine Health and Safety checks, acting where appropriate to identify and rectify any potential or existing breaches, in order to ensure the working environment fully complies with companies Health and Safety policy and COSHH regulations.
Necessary experience:
- The post holder must hold a full and clean driving licence. It would be useful but not essential to have a D and D1 driving Licence.
- The post holder must have a good knowledge and understanding of the repair and maintenance of PSV and other vehicles underpinned by a recognised qualification in vehicle repair and maintenance, equivalent to NVQ level 3, or a proven track record in the motor repair industry.
- The post holder must have a practical knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations, including the identification and assessment of risks presented within the workshop environment and whilst working at roadside.
Expected qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in PSV Vehicle Repair or equivalent BTEC.
- City & Guilds qualifications or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Proven track record in the repair and maintenance of PSV vehicles.
Desirable:
- The post holder must be computer literate and have knowledge of a range of computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Specialist vehicle equipment training will be provided where necessary.
- The post holder must be able to demonstrate clear and effective communication skills both verbal and written.
