We are looking for a driven and upbeat candidate to join our Team as a Wind Technician. You will get to work with outstanding leadership and field teams and be part of the Company’s success! Our Wind Technicians inspect, install, maintain, operate, and repair wind turbines.
Job Responsibilities
- Participates daily in morning safety meeting.
- Completes inspection of equipment and tools for safe use.
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis.
- Inspect the exterior and physical integrity of the tower.
- Climb towers to inspect, troubleshoot, or repair turbine equipment.
- Test electrical components and systems, as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical malfunctions.
- Service underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems.
- Replace worn or malfunctioning components.
- Follow maintenance manual and standard operating procedures for performing maintenance on wind turbine parts.
- Complete and validate written and electronic progress reports.
- Complete end of day housekeeping.
- Performs other job-related duties.
Job Requirements
- Must understand and be able to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all mechanical, hydraulic, braking, and electrical systems of a turbine.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must have a team-driven attitude.
- Ability to work on a diverse team.
- Ability to use technology apps and devices.
- Must have a valid ID.
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of related maintenance experience.
- Active GWO Basic Safety Training certificate preferred.
- At least one year of experience working around heavy equipment preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to climb on a ladder system with tools and equipment to a height of at least 260 feet.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to climb and work for prolonged periods in potential extreme weather.
- Must be able to enter and exit confined spaces for purpose of accessing mechanical parts.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to work beyond normal operating hours as determined by business demands.
