Transport UK London Bus is seeking an Advanced Engineer (HGV Technician Level 3) for night shifts. This position involves working a shift pattern of 4 nights on and 4 nights off, with 5‑day shifts available. Compensation is £28.28 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspecting, repairing and maintaining our buses.
  • Investigating and diagnosing mechanical and electronic faults.
  • Recording faults and repairs using a tablet.
  • Following safety instructions and reporting any issues.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • At least an NVQ or City and Guilds level 3 qualification for maintenance and repair of public service vehicles or heavy goods vehicles, or an equivalent international qualification.
  • OR at least five years’ experience repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles, evidence required.
  • Training to obtain an IRTEC in service maintenance technician, inspection technician and advanced technician will be provided if not currently held.
  • PCV licence is desired but not essential; driver training will also be offered.
  • Good standard of Maths and English.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and service manuals.
  • Knowledge of fleet management technical computer systems.
  • Team player, able to work with colleagues and across departments.
  • Flexible, able to meet deadlines and work varied shifts if required.
  • Willingness to undertake any additional training requested by the service manager.
  • Good initiative and safety consciousness.
