Transport for Wales is seeking a Senior Engineer - Highways and Active Travel to design and deliver a range of regional active travel infrastructure projects, working as part of a national multi-disciplinary team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop the concept, detailed designs, CAD drawings and construction information for active travel infrastructure projects by following appropriate design standards, legislation and guidance.
- Support and advocate Highway Authority, Corporate Joint Committee and TfW led active travel project designs that balance local needs and constraints with technical approaches and compliance.
- Develop and maintain sensitive relationships with stakeholders, leading creative, collaborative and compassionate engagement processes.
- Contribute to further development of the Active Travel Act Guidance by gathering, sharing and applying best practice from projects across the TfW team, Strategic Road Network (SRN) and local authority partners.
Who We're Looking For:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or associated discipline or demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Experience of highway design practice.
- Demonstrable experience of working within a technical design team environment.
- Demonstrable experience of using design software such as AutoCAD, preferably Civils 3D.
- Knowledge and experience of Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations.
Welsh Language Skills: While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application. TfW supports anyone who wants to learn Welsh or improve their skills.
