Role responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice and support on transport-related matters, including Business Case preparation and appraisal, for clients across a range of projects.
  • Deliver transport policy guidance by preparing business cases, documentation, and appraisals referencing WelTAG for early-stage projects to enable TfW to provide expert advice to Welsh Government and Local Authorities.
  • Support the delivery of multiple projects concurrently by meeting timescales, liaising with project teams, and using the supply chain to deliver quality work within budget and to client requirements.
  • Support stakeholder and client engagement by facilitating meetings to obtain and share information to progress TfW projects collaboratively.
  • Develop TfW Transport Planning project procedures by regulatory consulting and keeping up-to-date with changes to legislation, ensuring TfW and delivery partners use best-practice methods.

Who we’re looking for

  • Masters degree in a relevant area such as Transport Planning, Urban Transport, Transport Planning & Engineering, or equivalent experience in a transport planning role.
  • Working towards Chartered Transport Planner (e.g., TPP, ICE, IHT, CILT or similar).
  • Experience delivering a range of transport planning projects and/or business case development.
  • Ability to communicate technical arguments to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience applying the Better Business Case Five Case Model to transport projects.
