Role responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-disciplined team to manage EiS governance to safeguard investment by ensuring delivered TfW infrastructure projects are safe, interoperable, technically compliant and are delivered to the specified quality within constraints of time and cost.
  • Demonstrate projects have been delivered against TfW’s EiS Strategy, processes, and procedure requirements by liaising with all relevant project delivery teams and stakeholders to safely to the infrastructure into operational service.
  • Provide strategic oversight of TfW infrastructure project progress against key milestones and delivery dates by rigorously monitoring project trackers, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering timely updates to internal and external stakeholders to ensure all TfW infrastructure projects are delivered on schedule and fully meet EiS requirements.
  • Develop and maintain KPI reporting dashboards to monitor the health of all supported TfW infrastructure projects, by using insights to challenge internal and external stakeholders, driving accountability, and continuous improvement across project delivery that ensures effective oversight and early identification of risks
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential EiS risks by proactively monitoring the progress of TfW infrastructure projects through the development of a strong understanding of the EiS status to focus attention on the most critical high-risk activities to Put into Use the infrastructure into operational service.

Who we’re looking for

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng), Chartered Project Professional (ChPP), Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) or equivalent accreditation to demonstrate the necessary technical knowledge, professional practice, and competence for the role. or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading teams on large, high value, and complex capital infrastructure projects.
  • Experience of managing a technical assurance process on major projects throughout its full project lifecycle.
  • Core knowledge of Built Environment, Civils, M&E (Mechanical and Electrical), E&P (Electrical and Power), Signalling, Telecoms, Track, Electrification, and Plant disciplines.
  • Thorough knowledge of the key roles under Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and how they influence project activities.
  • Knowledge of setting up new processes and ways of working and embedding effective change.
  • Good knowledge of Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment (CSM-REA), Railways (Interoperability) Regulations 2011 (as amended), and Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006 (ROGS).
  • Experience of safely Putting into Use infrastructure projects that are “Significant” under CSM-REA as well as projects that are Authorisable under the Railways (Interoperability) Regulations 2011 (as amended).

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
