Role responsibilities
The Project Manager role will deliver commercially focused, transport related change projects to improve transport services, operational efficiency and profitability in line with Welsh Government(WG) transport policy and strategy.
- Deliver a range of commercially focused, transport related projects by applying robust project lifecycle methodologies (such as APM or PRINCE 2), implementing the project plan, schedule of all tasks, key milestones, and resource management to ensure these are completed safely to time, cost and quality.
- Project Manage part of the Commercial Rail Growth Plan by working with SMEs to deliver opportunities for revenue generation and/or savings across the business by providing delivery capability to the Client teams.
- Work closely with external suppliers who wish to develop the commercial offering at our stations by actively guiding suppliers through Industry processes, such as landlords consent, tracking progress against service level agreements and escalating issues to the Senior Project Manager to facilitate works on stations.
- Act as the \’Sponsor Agent\’ by being the interface between the sponsor and the project, helping to define scope, providing instruction to the delivery team, and providing any clarification needed. Ensuring the organisation and sponsor are kept informed of progress, that the project remains visible through effective reporting, and that there are no surprises.
Who we\’re looking for
- Hold a project management qualification such as APM or PRINCE2
- Proven experience of working on a variety of business change projects as a Project Manager or similar role
- Experience of promoting cross-team collaboration, with a focus on building mutually beneficial outcomes and improving overall service delivery.
- Demonstrable experience of managing a budget, including forecasting and monitoring spend.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
