Role responsibilities
- Undertake the required procurement to enable Transport for Wales to meet its business requirements and deliver key infrastructure projects.
- Work with other functions across the company to ensure compliance with internal and external procurement policy, process and relevant legislation.
- Provide advice and expertise across the company and to relevant stakeholders on appropriate procurement strategies by conducting and advising on market analysis, potential and compliant routes to market and supplier engagement requirement.
- Ensure that all procurement is in line with the Sustainable Procurement and Supply Chain Policy, process, procedure and legislation.
- Lead and deliver procurement events by advising stakeholders of options, developing strategies, drafting relevant documentation, coordinating tender and evaluations, and making informed recommendations to assist TfW in achieving business requirements and project outcomes.
- Support project delivery, and where called upon lead programmes of work for TfW teams with desired outcomes, including establishing frameworks.
- Support the shaping, implementation and management of the procurement process and procedures by working closely with the Head of Procurement and the team.
Who we're looking for
- A relevant professional qualification such as relevant degree, MCIPS or MRICS or proven relevant experience.
- Good knowledge and experience working under Public and Utilities Contract Regulations and Non-regulated Procurement.
- Experience in delivering procurement events for a range of requirements and having procurement process responsibility in a fast-moving environment with challenging stakeholder expectations.
- Able to deliver category procurement and packaging processes to drive sound sustainable procurement outcomes.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
