Role responsibilities
- Lead and develop the planning and scheduling team and service across TfW and its subsidiaries by facilitating collaborative planning workshops with internal and external stakeholders to robustly plan project outputs and realise project outcomes.
- Deliver the enhancement and renewals investment pipeline by working closely with others to integrate schedule and cost management to continuously challenge and improve TfWs planning, scheduling and control principles and processes.
- Monitor and maintain TfWs Integrated Master Schedule including vertical and horizontal integration of supporting plans to highlight trends and variances against schedule metrics and undertaking what-if scenarios to assist management intervention.
- Act as the second line of defence in accordance with TfWs project assurance requirements by ensuring all planning resources, systems, and processes are adhered both internally and across the supply chain, undertaking peer reviews of schedules in accordance with TfWs investment lifecycle to build confidence in the projects deliverability and stands up to scrutiny.
- Challenge the progress and performance of projects, ensuring project schedules meet NEC contract obligations and client expectations.
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve planning KPIs by identifying trends in internal and external performance to enable business insight and management action.
- Maintain and support the delivery of projects to time and cost by participating in Directorate and project performance reviews ensuring project schedules meet NEC contract obligations and the performance measurement baseline.
- Develop inputs to allow Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) to be undertaken to inform investment decisions and critical work planning, incorporating schedule contingency is monitored to support the delivery of projects to time.
- Drive delivery, performance and continuous improvement by supporting the team with professional development and being their source for subject matter expertise.
Who we’re looking for
- A relevant qualification in Planning and Scheduling or a project/programme management qualification e.g. APM, PMP or similar.
- Demonstrable evidence in the application of planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Excellent knowledge and demonstrable experience of creating integrated master schedules across multiple projects and programmes in a portfolio.
- Demonstrable evidence and knowledge in the application of NEC contract suite.
- Proven track record of leading a team and driving delivery, performance and continuous improvement.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills.
