Role responsibilities
The Engagement Manager will be responsible for building and owning varied transport related external relationships across Wales and its Border counties, proactively seeking input to shape the work of Transport for Wales (TfW).
• Lead external engagement on various TfW projects, themes and Initiatives, acting as the primary representative in transport-specific forums while proactively managing stakeholder relationships to gather input and enhance the impact of transport initiatives in Wales and Borders.
• Develop and implement engagement strategies and consultation plans aligned with the TfW Engagement Strategy, identifying key stakeholders, informing and involving communities, and capturing feedback via multiple mechanisms to ensure public transport meets the needs of the people it serves.
• Work with stakeholder and community groups to encourage and promote the positive benefits of public transport by proactively building relationships with varied stakeholders (user groups, education, business, tourism, transport authorities, other operators, local authorities) and working with them to Identify concerns and barriers to public transport now and in the long term.
• Work with TfW internal stakeholders to provide stakeholder and community insight to support decision making and offering positive challenge to ensure change reflects stakeholder and community needs.
Who we’re looking for
• Degree qualified in a relevant area such as Communication or public relations or have
• Demonstrable experience of managing community or stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Experience of effectively engaging and managing multiple and varying stakeholders.
• Experience of delivering stakeholder satisfaction, identifying opportunities to solve problems and finding positive resolution for stakeholders.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
